The first step in remaining calm on your wedding day is acknowledging that nothing is perfect. We all fantasise about our ideal celebration and how our day will go, but sometimes that is just unrealistic.

By accepting that there could be a few mishaps or mistakes along the way, you won’t be inclined to put too much pressure on others or yourself. Try to go with the flow and enjoy your wedding for what it is: joining with your partner to embrace and celebrate life, including all its quirks and oddities!

A key tip to remember on the morning of your wedding is to let others help out. You may have makeup, hair and styling professionals on hand, but sometimes this assistance does not qualm our instinct to take matters into our own hands. If you find yourself trying to control matters or carry out all the work yourself, take a breather. It is important to trust those around you and enjoy the experience, not over-exert yourself!

Our next tip is to lean on your friends. They will be so excited for you and want to support you as much as they can, so take advantage of this and enjoy being in their company on your wedding morning! Getting ready for your big day is a momentous experience in itself, so make sure to make some lasting memories together.

Perhaps this goes without saying but do not forget to feed yourself. You will need energy for the celebration ahead and we all know what being hangry (angry due to hunger) can result in…! Why not make your wedding breakfast special and request your favourite foods to nourish you and your friends? Treat yourself, it’s your wedding day!
