You have gone past the “Yes, I will” stage, and now it’s time to plan your wedding. While there a thousand and one things you could have on your wedding-planning checklist, here are 7 crucial items you can’t afford to miss out:

 1. Budget: Unanimously agreed upon by the guys at Truly Engaging, One Fab Day and the Brides as a top-on-the list item, a budget sets the stage for every other item on your wedding-planning checklist. Hence, before you start looking out for a venue or choosing your wedding dress, make sure you agree on a budget that works for you.

       2. Your guest list: It’s your big day and nothing will give you more joy than seeing everyone you know in attendance. However, we both know that hosting a thousand people may not be a good idea depending on your budget and venue. Hence, take the time to identify and create a list of the people you can’t afford not to have on your special day and be sure to send them your wedding invitation on time.

     3. Venue reservations: The venues you decide to use will be dependent on your budget, personal taste and the number of guests you intend to invite. Therefore, after you must have researched and agreed on a venue for your wedding reception and or engagement, find out when you need to make payment and make sure to do so when due.

     4. Food and drinks: Just as Halloween without costumes is incomplete, a wedding without refreshment (or like some folks call it – “item 7”) is not complete. So, get in touch with a caterer as soon as possible and seal this essential component of your wedding party.

    5.  Wedding dress: What better day to look your best than on this special day? As such, be sure to have your tuxedo and wedding gown ready on time.

     6. Photos and videos: You would be doing a disservice to yourselves and your unborn children without capturing this beautiful moment. Make sure to get the best photographers and videographers you can afford for this special occasion!

     7.  Cake and music: Have you ever attended a wedding ceremony without a cake and music? I don’t think so. Then, a good cake and some lovely music should be available on your special day.   You might want to check out some of our creative cake ideas as well.
